Kapama Cheetah Project

Kapama forms part of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre and specialises in the captive breeding and study of the vulnerable and magnificent cheetah. We have seen great success in the program, with 30 cheetahs reintroduced into the wild since its inception and a fantastic standard of health and wellbeing of our animals. This is thanks to the support of the public and the attention to detail that this allows us to provide to the animals. Cheetahs are not the only animals that are bred here, with Blackfooted cats, African Wild Cats, African Wild Dogs and Blue Cranes also seeing success. There is also a wildlife rehabilitation centre that seeks to reintroduce sick or problem animals to their natural habitat. A visit to us will let you experience wonderful animals up close, and will allow us to help even more threatened creatures. Tours and game drives, vulture feeding, lunches and gourmet barbeques are available, and every cent we make will go back into the program.
