With the emphasis on relaxation, there is a wellness spa that offers guests Jean Bare skin treatments. This range is South African, and has been specially developed for South African skin exposed to our very specific weather conditions. There are a range of treatments available, including skin analysis, skin treatments and beauty treatments. For those looking for something a bit more leisurely, there is swimming pool to laze by, as well as a Jacuzzi for guests to kick back and chill out in.

A bit further afield, guests can visit the Lowveld Botanical Gardens, the Jane Goodall Institute Chimpanzee Eden, as well as the town of Kaapsehoop, famous for bird watching and its wild horse population. There is also Rochter Wineries, which is Mpumalanga’s only commercial orange winery.

There are 13 rooms, including 4 twin rooms, 6 king rooms, 1 family unit, which all offer 3 star bed and breakfast. There is also 1 self catering unit.

All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, TV with M-Net, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and laundry service. There is also wireless internet available to guests.

The family unit sleeps 6, and is made up of 1 twin room and 1 room with a king size bed. The unit also has 1 built in kids’ beds.

The self catering unit sleeps 2 adults and 2 children, and has a twin room with lounge, and dedicated work space for those on business. There is a mini kitchen, with microwave only and limited equipment.

Dining

Breakfast is served at Scooter Cafe, and consists of cereals, yogurt, traditional cooked breakfast, omelette, French toast, juice, coffee and tea.

Dinner is also served, but booking is essential.

Visit Rocklands Game Lodge to relax and revitalize body and mind!

With over 8500 hectares of bushveld to explore, the camp offers early morning walks with experienced rangers. Guests are also given the chance to try their hand at the art of tracking, passed down from one generation to another by the Shangaan people. The camp offers a Bush Craft and Survival Course’s, and activities include how to start a fire, how to move fire from one location to another, rope making, pottery, the use of indigenous plants in food and medicine. Guests are also taken on game drives each day. This gives them the ideal chance to sit back relax and take in the wonders of the reserve. There is a pool surrounded by a wooden deck, which provides guests with the perfect way to escape the hot African sun.

Accommodation

The Bateleur Eco Safari Camp has 10 East African Safari tents, set up along the riverbed under the mighty Apple Leaf, Jackalberry and Tamboti trees. The tents are comfortably furnished. 3 of the tents have en-suite bathrooms, and the remainder will be fitted with en-suite bathrooms next year. There are separate ablution facilities for the remainder of the tents, with wash basins and open air wood fuelled showers.

Catering

Breakfast is a hearty home cooked meal, as is lunch. Dinner is served around the camp fire in the open air boma. All meals inclusive.

There are 6000 hectares for guests to explore on game drives with experienced rangers and trackers. Game drives are taken in open Land Rovers, in the early morning, late afternoon and evening, and provide guests with the ideal chance to spot the Big 5 (leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo) as well as a variety of plant, bird and plant species. There are also bush walks available for the more active guests who want to get a bit closer to nature.

For the afternoon chill out session there is a patio where guests can sit back under the shade of a Weeping Boer Been Tree, or laze in the pool while escaping the afternoon heat. At night the camp is transformed into an African wonderland with kerosene flares, creating a true safari ambience.

Accommodation

There are 8 brick and thatched chalets; 4 are two bed chalets, either double or two single beds all with on suite bathrooms. The other 4 chalets have two rooms, with two beds in each, with a shared bathroom, ideal for families.

Dining

All meals are included. Breakfast and lunch are served in the open thatched dining room overlooking the water hole, and dinner is served in traditional African style around a log fire in the boma.

There is a Day Spa where guests can be pampered and preened on an open air deck overlooking the Crocodile River. The spa offers a range of treatments from massages to manicures and pedicures, as well as facials.

Guests wanting to explore the area can visit Mpumalanga’s Panorama route, which includes Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, as well as waterfalls and historic towns such as Pilgrim’s Rest. There is also the famous Leopard Creek golf course nearby, and day trips to Swaziland and Mozambique.

The Lodge has accommodation in 10 fully air-conditioned double rooms, some of which are garden suites, each with en-suite bathroom.

There are also the Elephant Garden Suites which consist of 2 units overlooking the river, each with there own veranda’s, bar fridge, in and outdoor shower, and private splash pool.

Dining

There is delicious international cuisine, with a well selected wine list to accompany the fine dining.

This is a bird watcher’s paradise, as guests meander along the paths and take in the rich sounds and smells of the subtropical forest; explore the waterfalls and swim in the river; have a romantic picnic on the lake’s edge; enjoy nature’s reflexology while walking along the rocky river bed; explore the surrounding country on a 4×4 scenic sundowner cruise. Alternatively guests can enjoy treatments at the spa or sit at the bar, relax and watch some TV.

For those looking for adventure a little further afield, there are trips to the Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Eden, Swaziland and Mozambique.

There are 2 different types of accommodation: Lake Views and Forest Views

Lake Views

There are 3 suites along the lake, all with large verandas overlooking the lake, inhabited by Koi fish, a plethora of bird species and tree and plant life. These suites have a 360 degree view of the mountains and are set amongst the forest trees. Each suite is luxurious, comfortable and very private.

They all have en-suite bathrooms, mini bar, tea tray, fan, heater and safe.

One of the suites is double storey with its own lounge and fire place, and sleeps 4.

Forest Views

There are 6 suites all tucked away in a riverine forest linked by elevated walkways above the riverine floor. Each one has a private deck, overlooking the fresh cool mountain stream.

They all have en-suite bathrooms, mini bar, tea tray, fan, heater and safe.

Dining

The emphasis is on delicious gourmet food, served for all three meals. Only the best, freshest ingredients are used, and only the best dishes are served.

The Kruger National Park and other private Sabi Sands game reserves are less than 50 km away, and the guest house provides easy access to the scenic Panorama route’s attractions which include the Blyde River Canyon, Mac Mac Falls, God’s Window and the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest.

The guest house is tastefully furnished to provide the ultimate in comfort. Each room is decorated in a homely, comfortable fashion, with en-suite bathrooms. All the bedrooms are either twin or double bedded rooms with their own entrances leading from a large veranda.

A delicious full English breakfast is served, and packed breakfasts can be arranged for those setting off on an early morning expedition.

With excellent service, delicious food and luxury accommodation, Greenway Woods is the perfect place for a family getaway or corporate retreat. Situated on a lake, near an 18 hole golf course this is the ideal setting for anyone looking to get away from it all. There are also kids’ activities, a range of games including table tennis, darts, pool and board games. There is a swimming pool, volley ball court and mountain bikes available for the more active guests.

Self catering Chalets

There are 35 chalets. Each of these has a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and there are two additional bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. There is also a second bathroom. The lounge area is the perfect place to kick back and relax in after a heavy day of activities, and for those less than perfect days there is a TV with the full DSTV bouquet to keep guests entertained. There is a dining area and fully fitted kitchen where the family can enjoy a relaxed homely atmosphere.

Standard Rooms

The standard rooms in the hotel are all fitted with air conditioning, telephones and TV with DSTV bouquet.

Deluxe Rooms

The Deluxe Rooms all have a lounge with fireplace, air conditioning, telephone and DSTV.

Dining

With a choice of 3 delicious places to eat, and a wonderful range of local specialities, Greenway Woods caters for everyone.

At the Injabula Boma Restaurant our guests are treated to an authentic African experience, with a range of local dishes all freshly prepared.

The Rivergrove Restaurant is primarily used for breakfast, but is also used as a lunch and dinner venue when Injabula is fully booked.

The Terrace and Tavern Bar is the perfect location for light meals, snacks and drinks.

Sights to see in the area include the Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route (which included God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon and the Mac Mac and Lisbon Falls, as well as the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest, once famous for gold mining in the area). There are also a range of outdoor activities in the area that range from golf to mountain biking, and everything in between.

Alternatively guests can take in the charm and tranquillity of this Colonial lodge as they lie by the secluded pool deck, overlooking the White River. Bird life is plentiful, and guests can enjoy their sweet song as they enjoy sundowners on the raised deck. Alternatively, for the more active there are two walks along the river, where guests can bird watch and take in the wonderfully landscaped gardens.

Accommodation

There are 16 superior rooms, 3 luxury rooms and the honeymoon suite, all tastefully decorated in a variety of classical styles ranging from Colonial, Victorian, Provencal, French Country, African Colonial and English Country. There are also the 6 new Orchard and Forest rooms, which have views over the property’s citrus orchard and pine forest, respectively. All the rooms offer the best in comfort, luxury and privacy. While the rooms differ, they all have en-suite bathrooms: some have outdoor showers, huge concrete baths or open fire places.

All rooms are fitted with a mini bar on request, with ice delivered in time for sundowners each day. There are tea and coffee making facilities with fresh baked biscuits, room service, air conditioning, satellite TV, valet and laundry service, hair dryer, bathrobes, fresh flowers and bird books.

Superior Rooms

These rooms are all differently decorated, but all offer 5 star levels of comfort, service and luxury. The Provencal Rooms have huge concrete baths that dominate the bathrooms, while the French Country Rooms have step up baths and handmade basins. The outdoor showers, which are in most of the rooms, really do add the magical Jatinga experience.

Luxury Suites – all luxury suites have sounds systems, and a complimentary sherry decanter.

The two English Country themed suites both have dual open fires places for guests to utilise either in the bedroom or the lounge. Both suites have four poster beds made from Cherry wood, and they both have private outdoor showers.

The Colonial Suite is reminiscent of times gone by, with checked tiled bathroom floor and a Victorian ball and claw bath.

Honeymoon Suite

This is the perfect place to celebrate romance. The honeymoon suite is a truly enchanting experience for any couple; open plan, with a dreamy four poster bed, private garden, outdoor shower and private plunge pool. There is also a sound system and complimentary sherry, and with fresh red roses daily, this is a place for love to flourish.

Dining

Famous for fine dining, Jatinga offers the best in culinary experiences, including breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner.

Breakfast is freshly prepared each day, and guests can chose from fresh fruit and muesli, eggs Benedict or a more traditional cooked breakfast.

Lunch is an al fresco affair and can be taken at any one of the lodge’s outdoor venues, as you sit and soak up the sun, listening to the sweet birdsong. Alternatively a freshly prepared picnic is available for day trips, or simply to enjoy as you laze on the lawns of Jatinga.

Dinner is prepared by the lodge’s culinary team, who put together a varied and tempting menu with chef’s specials changing daily. These dishes will delight the most discerning pallet, and are served in the elegant dining room which has spectacular views across the gardens.

Jatinga Lodge also has a bar at which guests can enjoy a pre or post dinner drink, the Lord Milner Pub. There is also a wine cellar stocked with some of the best South African wines, and guests can visit here before dinner to make their evening wine selection.
